HomeNEWSLots of news: During these last few weeks I have been an online student in a course offered by the Navy Post-Graduate School, about distance learning design, which has been challenging and quite useful. If you are curious about these technological advances -- I truly believe that we'll be more and more relying on those instruments -- check the NPS website (http://www.nps.edu/DL/); I'm sure you'll be surprised. In the Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies (http://www.ndu.edu/chds/) professional side, many interesting experiences dealing with hemispheric security in several Latin American countries. In addition to the courses regularly offered, the Center has been working closely with regional administrations in developing strategic security planning. I am planning a course on Stability and Reconstruction, the first of the Center to have a 8 week portion on-line for 16 selected students, to start in April 4, 2007. The Center plans to take this course to be accredited soon (more will follow soon on that). In the research area, I had chapters in three new books, two edited in Latin America and one in Spain and I am writing another on National Culture and Intelligence to be puablished by the Joint Military Intelligence Center. Finally, I am till active in giving interviews to the media, mostly CNN, Radio France Internationale and BBC, but I've been limiting my exposition due to the natural restrictions of a government job, which obliges me to introduce the disclaimer that whatever I say does not represent the official view of the government or organizations I work for. Painful but necessary. |
